The QS scheme guarantees cross-stage quality assurance for fruit, vegetables and potatoes. It starts with the monitoring of the crop and the harvest, goes via the wholesaler through to the fruit and vegetable counters in retail.
Only foodstuffs inspected by the QS scheme on all stages are allowed to carry the QS certification mark. The blue QS certification mark signalises to the consumer that the quality assurance is without gaps. The essential component of quality assurance for fruit and vegetables is the residue monitoring program. All scheme participants are obliged to regularly take part and to maintain the precisely defined specifications.
The results are recorded in the QS Database and evaluated. In order to meet the requirements of internationally linked fruit and vegetable markets QS mutually recognises foreign standards and audits.
